Government Sources – The US Government maintains many websites with excellent information for researchers.  The Dept of Justice, the FBI, the PA Dept of Corrections, and the Bureau of Justice Statistics would be good resources to look at depending on your area of criminal justice research.

EBSCOhost – Our EBSCOhost database contains thousands of articles on criminal justice topics.  Articles labelled “Academic Journal” in your search results are scholarly sources.

The Library Book & eBook Collections – The Library maintains a collection of books and eBooks on criminal justice.  It is highly recommended you search our book collection for books on your topic.  Some new CJ eBooks are Blood, Powder, and Residue : How Crime Labs Translate Evidence Into Proof by Beth Bechky, A Pattern of Violence : How the Law Classifies Crimes and What It Means for Justice by David Sklansky, and The Gun Debate : What Everyone Needs to Know by Phillip Cook.

Newspapers and Magazines – These are reliable but non-scholarly sources of information on crime.  Some examples are NPR, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, US News, the Guardian, or BBC News. Use the search function on these sites to look for articles.
